Repair Your Smile
Don't Suffer With Hurting Teeth
There is no need to suffer with a damaged tooth. If your tooth is broken, chipped, or fractured, see Nobscot Dental Care as soon as possible. Otherwise, your tooth could be damaged further or become infected, possibly causing you to end up losing the tooth. Our skilled doctors can repair your tooth using a variety of methods that will cater to your needs.
If you have any questions about how you can have a healthy, attractive smile like many of our other patients, please contact us today.
A crown is sometimes termed a "cap" or "jacket." A crown will restore a large filling or a cracked tooth to its original size, shape and tooth color. A crown may be recommended after root canal therapy has been completed, as the tooth tends to become brittle and is more likely to fracture. A crown can strengthen and protect the remaining tooth structure and improves the appearance of your teeth.
A root canal may be needed if the decay has reached the tooth's nerve. Essentially, a root canal involves cleaning out a tooth's infected root, then filling and sealing the canal.
You can think of a dental inlay or onlay as being midway between a filling and a crown. Inlays or onlays are used when not enough tooth structure remains to support a filling, but the tooth is not so severely damaged that it needs a crown.
Metal fillings are virtually a thing of the past and at Nobscot Dental Care we have the technology to replace any unattractive metal fillings with natural looking tooth-colored fillings making them almost invisible to the naked eye. These composite fillings are structurally bonded to your teeth making them much less likely to fall out which was a regular problem with silver/amalgam fillings.
When deep pockets between teeth and gums (6 millimeters or deeper) are present, it is difficult for a dentist to thoroughly remove the plaque and tartar. Flap surgery is a procedure where the gum flap is lifted away from the tooth.
Bone grafting materials are used to rebuild and regenerate the bone providing sufficient bone in quantity and quality for implant placements and supporting tooth structure.
Occasionally a patient may become anxious and can't relax. There are forms of conscious sedation that allow a patient to relax and/or become sleepy. Forms of conscious sedation may involve inhaling a gas, taking an oral medication, getting an injection or receiving medication intravenously.
